An austere but yet beautiful and unique was the Opening Ceremony of the 19th CMAS Finswimming World Championship which took place at the Port of Volos on Thursday 23rd of June.

The parade of all national teams preceded and ended up at the ceremony area heading the CMAS flag.

Αt his greeting speech the President of the Organizing Committee, Treasurer of the Board of HSF and President of Sports Committee of the World Federation (CMAS) Ilias Xiarchos welcomed the national teams, thanked the authorities, especially the Municipality of Volos and the District of Thessaly for their contribution and gave a promise for a successful organization.

Also, greetings gave the elected Mayor of Volos Achilleas Beos, the President of District of Thessaly Kostas Agorastos and the President of the World Federation (CMAS) Anna Arzanova who officially started the 19th CMAS Finswimming World Championship.

A unique dance show completed the opening ceremony.

In the first part, Nena Tsiamaga presented a choreography of aerial dance based on the music of Alexandros Karkalas, a composer from Volos, inspired by the characteristic movement of the Finswimming athletes.

In the second part, Vaso Tiliopoulou is inspired by the movement of the dolphin, which is the mascot of the championship, and in the third part Konstantinos Panopoulos and his dancers presented the joy of victory of the athletes.
